Nine Top Tips with Get Smart about Children's Devices

Access to Books is Critical

It's day two of Orange Week!
Elementary change buckets are located in each classroom and in the elementary office. I know some teachers have already talked about how much their students have raised!
High school buckets are located on the table across from the high school office and inside the office. Let's see which grade has the most at the end of the week!
Remember: Our goal is $8,000 😎
Fact of the Day:
62% of teachers say children in their classrooms are coming to school hungry.
School lunches — and the uptick of school breakfast programs - help curb some of the barriers in access. But lacking stable food access at home can have devastating impacts on a child's ability to get the most out of their education.

You are you Child's First and most Important Teacher!

As most of you know, this week is Orange Week at CMS! We are raising money and awareness for childhood hunger. The money we raise goes to support our school's food bank, which sends home bags of food each week to almost 60 students. This year, our goal is $8,000 dollars, so any donation is a BIG help!
Did you know: An estimated 48.8 million Americans, including 16.2 million children, live in households that lack the means to get enough nutritious food on a regular basis.
As a result, about 1 in 5 children go hungry at some point during the year.

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

As a Precaution Cutter Morning Star School District went on lock down at approximately 2:15 this afternoon based on gunshots being reported in the area north of our campus. Garland County Sheriff's office responded with multiple units and secured our schools until the area was searched and confirmed that our students and staff were safe. All students were dismissed on time.

Cutter Morning Star School District is off lockdown. All students and staff are save. And running their normal schedules. Thank you for your support.

Good morning. Cutter Morning Star school district is currently on a “practice lockdown”. No students or staff are in danger. This practice lockdown serves two purposes. First, it gives staff and students an opportunity to practice our emergency plan. Secondly, it gives the administration and local law enforcement an opportunity to complete a district wide search using trained dogs for any dangerous or unsafe items on campus. Thank you for your cooperation. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.

There were small grass fires on Highway 70 behind Cutter Morning Star High School. Thanks to the fast action of a concerned citizen driving by, faculty and staff and SRO the situation was contained until the Morning Star Fire Department arrived. Thank you to all that helped. Students and staff were never in any danger.
