Should I buy a sports car or an economy car? Should I get a 5 bedroom mansion or an apartment? Should I pay for expensive shampoo or get the basic brand? These were the type of questions that students were answering at our reality fair, organized by Diamond Lakes Federal Credit Union, our high school counselor, Michelle Edgin, and our career coach, Christi Nation. Students learned how to budget and the importance of making smart choices! They had a lot of fun and got a little dose of reality.

Parents and students, Each year, we collect class dues. These fees go directly to student programs and are used to pay for things like prom, school dances, and school functions. Right now, we are preparing for our 2023 prom, and we are trying to collect class dues to ensure that prom can be a fun and successful event for our students. Because we are not legally allowed to use state or federal funds for these events, we depend completely on these class dues and fundraising events to pay for prom. Class dues are as follows: $15 for 7th and 8th graders $35 for 9-11th graders. We have set a deadline with our students of February 24th to get these class dues in. Thank you for your support for all of the programs and events that are students are a part of!

Hi parents and students: If you aren't aware, our band program has accomplished amazing things in the last few weeks. We want to share some of their accomplishments: On January 21st, Ryder May and Logan Vaughan made the region 2 honor band! Region 2 is very large and includes much larger schools, so for them to make it on the band is quite an accomplishment. Logan placed 8th chair out of 30 tubas. He was seated as the 4th tuba in the 2nd honor band. Ryder placed 9th overall out of 88 percussionists. He was seated in the 1st honor band and scored nearly perfect on the timpani drums. This qualified him for state band auditions. Ryder is also a part of the Hot Springs Community Band. The music for this ensemble is college level or higher. On February 7th, Ryder May, Logan Vaughn, Riley Harvey, Emily Breashears, Sam Sangster, and Abby Sharp travelled to Searcy to audition form the All Star Honor Band. Every one of these students represented the school very well at the auditions and had amazing performances! Ryder May placed 9th chair in percussion and Logan placed 8th chair in Tuba. Riley and Sam performed very well and placed as alternates. The CMS Eagle Concert Band will be headed to concert assessment at Lake Hamilton in March for a chance to qualify for state band for class 3A. Congratulations to all of our band students and all of their accomplishments, and we look forward to many more successes this year and in years to come!

Just a reminder to high school parents and students that our teachers are posting assignments through Google Classroom. Student attendance is based on students completing this work. Please try to keep up with this while you are out, as to not get behind. For those without internet, you will have 3 school days to make up the work when you get back. Happy Snow/Ice day!

Announcement Regarding The High Reliability Schools Survey Cutter Morning Star School District works hard to build a culture of excellence for our students and our staff. But our work is only as successful as the input we get from our students, parents, and staff that helps us make good decisions. This is why Superintendent Anderson, Principal Almond, and Principal Stage are asking every student, parent, and staff member to take about 5-10 minutes to complete our High Reliability School Survey. This survey asks questions about the culture of our elementary school and of our high school. This survey is being provided at no cost to our district by the Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and DESE will provide us with the results of our survey so that our administrators and our staff leadership teams and our school board can use those results to make the best decisions for our students and our staff. The window for the survey closes on Friday, February 10th. Below are the links to the survey: You may choose to take the survey without giving any identifying information OR you may choose to include that information. Also parents can take the survey for each school if they have students in both schools. AND staff can take the survey for each school if they work in both schools. The most important thing is that you complete our survey, please. IF you have any questions or concerns about the survey please feel free to contact either your building principal OR email Laura Baber at laura.baber@cmseagles.net. Thank you! HIGH RELIABILITY SCHOOL SURVEY LINKS: There are 2 separate survey links, one for students and a second for administration/staff/parents.
