Dear Parents/Students: Two picture day events have come and gone in October and in January. I wanted to reach out to you and the students that have been either absent, temporary virtual or full-time virtual during those days. If you would like your portrait to be included in the yearbook this year, there is still time to make that happen. You have a couple of options: 1) You can take a picture of your child up close and against a solid light colored background wall or sheet (inside or outside). Make sure the lighting is good. Take a few shots and email them to me by Friday, Feb. 5th. Make sure to include the FIRST and LAST NAME, and GRADE. 2) If you are unsure about taking a picture and sending it to me, then you can come to the high school from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3rd and I will take your child's picture for the yearbook. You must email me and let me know so I will be expecting you and your child. This year has been one for the books so far and we don't want to leave anyone out. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Announcement Regarding The HIgh Reliability Schools Survey: Cutter Morning Star School District works hard to build a culture of excellence for our students and our staff. But our work is only as successful as the input we get from our students, parents, and staff that helps us make good decisions. This is why Superintendent Anderson, Principal Baber, and Principal Carter are asking every student, parent, and staff member to take about 5-10 minutes to complete our High Reliability School Survey. This survey asks questions about the culture of our elementary school and of our high school. This survey is being provided at no cost to our district by the Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and DESE will provide us with the results of our survey so that our administrators and our staff leadership team and our school board can use those results to make the best decisions for our students and our staff. The window for the survey opened on Tuesday, January 26th and closes on Friday, February 12th. Below are the links to the survey: You may choose to take the survey without giving any identifying information OR you may choose to include that information. Also parents can take the survey for each school if they have students in both schools. AND staff can take the survey for each school if they work in both schools. The most important thing is that you complete our survey, please. IF you have any questions or concerns about the survey please feel free to contact either your building principal OR email Terry Lawler at Terry.lawler@cmseagles.net. Thank you! HIGH RELIABILITY SCHOOL SURVEY LINKS: There are 2 separate survey links, one for students and a second for administration/staff/parents: Administration / Staff / Parents: https://bit.ly/3iC7PtQ Students: https://bit.ly/3p4mr7u

Hello parents and students. Just as a reminder, if you are interested in joining the cheer team next year, we will be having a mandatory parent night, next Monday 2/1 at 5pm in the cafeteria. We will be discussing upcoming tryouts and expectations of a cheerleader to make sure parents and students are fully informed of the responsibilities of being a member of the squad. This is a mandatory meeting you must attend if your child wishes to try out for the team. If you are already on the team this year, you must also attend the meeting and try out for a spot on next year's team. If you do not attend the meeting you will not be allowed to come to try outs. Please email Ms. Staton or Mrs. Goss if you have any questions. Thanks for your time!

It is the time of the year for our seniors to start applying for FAFSA and Academic Challenge….and applying to college. If you are planning on going to college, you need to be at the school Friday morning 1/22/21 from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon. Students may bring their parents’ 2019 taxes and Mrs. Diane Meredith can walk you through the application. She will bring 3 staff members with her. Should be able to knock out everything on that day. This is actually something that is normally getting close to being finalized by this time. Money for college is hard to come by and we want all of our graduating seniors to have an opportunity to attend college and forge a career path for themselves. If you plan on attending college this fall make sure you are at this meeting on Friday. Sincerely, Matt Carter HIgh School Principal.

Hi Parents and students, On Tuesday, February 23rd, our 11th grade student will be taking the ACT at Cutter Morning Star High School. All virtual students must take this test in-person, as ACT does not offer a virtual option from home. Next Tuesday, January 19th, we will have a meeting with all 11th grade students at the beginning of 4th period (10:25) in Mrs. Staton's room (Room 507). Mrs. Staton has an extremely large room, so all social distancing protocols will be in place. All 11th grade students must attend. This includes our virtual students. Please contact me before the meeting if extenuating circumstances or health related issues will create a conflict. During the meeting, I will be walking you through the process of creating an ACT account, and filling out "non-test" information to prepare you for the exam. Please bring your Chromebooks and have them charged. In addition, I will be passing out and going over a guide which will relate all of the information needed to prepare for the exam. This year, all students will receive an opt-in form that must be signed by parents or guardians in order to take the exam. These must be returned no later than Friday, January 29th. It is extremely important that you attend this meeting. Thank you so much, and if you have any questions, please let me know!
